Punjab, Pakistan β August 2025
Exceptionally high floods have forced the evacuation of more than 200,000 people across Punjab as rivers Ravi, Sutlej, and Chenab continue to overflow. Entire villages have been submerged, homes destroyed, and thousands of families displaced, leaving communities in urgent need of food, shelter, and clean drinking water.
π¨ Current Situation
- Rescue teams and the army are evacuating families by boat from Kasur, Sialkot, Gujarat, and other low-lying districts.
- In Sialkot, record-breaking rainfall in 24 hours submerged cars, houses, and roads.
- Over 32,000 people have been rescued by emergency boats so far, but many families are still stranded, refusing to leave their homes due to poverty and livestock concerns.
- Disaster authorities have warned residents to stay away from rivers and drains as the risk of further flooding continues.

π Humanitarian Impact
More than 40% of Pakistanβs population lives below the poverty line, and these floods have left thousands of families without food, shelter, or basic survival supplies. Many are forced to live in temporary shelters, while others risk staying behind in submerged homes to protect their belongings and livestock.
